The DVIRC (Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center - www.dvirc.org) is a management consulting, economic development organization established in 1988. We focus on helping small and middle–market manufacturers improve their profitability, performance and competitive advantage. 

DVIRC operates in a rich and diverse market of some 5,000 SMMs, offering fee-based consulting services, training and education, and manufacturing network groups for CEOs. We are part of the MEP National System and also serve as a sub-recipient and affiliate of the Pennsylvania MEP (PAMEP).   Since 1988, we have helped generate over two billion dollars in value-added impact for our clients, and consistently achieve a 4.8 / 5.0 in customer satisfaction. DVIRC also connects manufacturers to regional, state and federal resources for a variety of business needs. 

Over the past three years DVIRC has been awarded annual contracts with the Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment (DoD-OEA). The purpose of these contracts is to inform, advise, and implement Industry 4.0 / Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMTs) such as: Cyber Security, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, Digital Analytics and Automation, etc., all in an effort to strengthen and support the U.S. manufacturing supply chain by investing in AMTs.

OPPORTUNITY

The DVIRC is seeking proposals for a part-time Project Manager under an impending fourth award from DOD-OEA through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The Project Manager selected will work with and under the direct supervision of the DVIRC to ensure completion of the Scope of Work submitted to and approved by the DOD-OEA.

PLEASE NOTE: This opportunity is contingent upon final approval of DVIRC’s/DCED’s application to DOD-OEA, which is anticipated but not yet secured.

The Project Manager selected will apply an organized and disciplined process to achieve the stated project objective by ensuring that the tasks are executed by each task leader and task team, and that milestones are reached to produce the project deliverables. The Project Manager must be tech savvy and have experience using SharePoint and other platforms as part of their document management and communication tools.

The primary functions of the Project Manager include the following:

  1. Developing a detailed project plan and schedule, and overseeing the work that needs to be done to achieve the stated project objectives
  2. Coordinating activities among a diverse group of stakeholders and project participants, including DVIRC’s Management Team and Sales & Marketing department
  3. Managing 4-6 subcontractors as part of the project team to support the work
  4. Managing communications with all project participants under DVIRC supervision, and providing periodic reports to DVIRC’s management team
  5. Providing non-financial interim and final reports to the DVIRC per the reporting schedule
  6. Overseeing production of the final deliverables as outlined in the Work Plan

Candidates should demonstrate some level of familiarity with economic development; DoD-related project management is desirable but not required. A level of familiarity with the smaller manufacturing business community is expected.
