Summary

Directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, implementation, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility through managing direct reports or performing the duties individually. This position will support WPP philosophy and standards and be highly involved in continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

    • Manages a team of Project Technicians, focused on completing assigned projects

    • Establish and maintain the functional and processing requirements for major capital equipment

    • Create layouts and floor plans in AutoCAD

    • Review process and work flow

    • Lead design and project review meetings

    • Develop quotation specifications

    • Deliver the benefits versus cost analysis

    • Implementation and installation management

    • Coordinate skill trades contractors

    • Provide project status reports and milestone updates

    • Control expenditures within limitations of the project budget

    • Punch list development

    • Project completion and validation

    • Hands on troubleshooting in the plants

  • Manage and lead work for an Engineering Co-Op and Engineering Summer Intern

  • Assigns and oversees project team members to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans and product testing

  • Willing to hold team members accountable for delivery of assigned tasks

  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications

  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases  

                           

     

     

     

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required
  • At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience managing a team is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Control system design and programming experience
  • Hands on experience with electrical and maintenance
  • Ability to travel at least (50%) which could increase depending on projects, this includes some international travel
