Job Title: Project Manager, Project Management

Reports to: Senior Director, Project Management

Job Summary: Is accountable for carrying out an assigned ASHP work project. Has responsibility for recommending and selecting the most effective methods or protocol to use in the delivery of ASHP projects. Responsible for the development and execution of projects for the Office of Professional Development.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Determines work priorities, policies and operating procedures.

  2. Interacts with others to advise on and facilitate the execution of ASHP’s programmatic and operational initiatives. Day-to-day management of Office of Professional Development projects, including live and online Continuing Education (CE) activities and other special projects for a variety of audiences.

  3. Develops and monitors project timelines that identify and sequence all the detailed tasks to ensure projects are completed on time and at the highest quality.

  4. Develops and manages timely and professional communication, including written, electronic and oral communication, with staff, contractors, vendors, program faculty, and other stakeholders.

  5. Develops and coordinates live and online educational activities and resources working collaboratively with a project team. Manages the development and distribution of educational materials including, presentation materials, online surveys and collateral materials for projects ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  6. Develops and executes an effective marketing and communications strategy for program promotion and audience generation, as applicable.

  7. Manages the implementation and reporting of educational evaluations and other outcomes assessments to ensure the quality of educational programs. Coordinates CE field testing of assessment questions as assigned/requested.

  8. Ensures projects comply with Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and other applicable accrediting bodies including timely submission of all materials/applications and maintenance of project documentation and files.

  9. Communicates project risks including providing quality options for solutions to prevent projects from getting off track.

  10. Provides onsite meeting management services for live activities and other projects as assigned/requested.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a degree plus a working knowledge of the theories and principles of English, Journalism, or related field or discipline in pharmacy, business, project or association management.
  • Requires a minimum three to five years of prior experience in medical education project management.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/ assignments in various stages of  development, and meet timelines, all while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrates a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adapts easily to changing priorities.
  • Strong customer-oriented attitude.
  • Willing to travel an estimated 20% or more of the work year.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home-based office.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools – Asana preferred.
