Project Manager Radiology Education

Under the direction of the Director of CHOP Rad Teleradiology / Education Program / Research and/or identified supervisor(s), fulfills primary ongoing responsibility for the management of projects. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience, including experience successfully managing various projects. The candidate must have an outstanding grasp of information technology concepts and processes, with demonstrated aptitude for effective leadership of staff. Other focal points include meeting project commitments, good communication skills as well as the ability (as assigned) to lead, or assist in the planning, implementation, introduction and coordination of projects.


Job Responsibilities

 

General:

  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Attends all meetings as deemed necessary to carry out job function
  • Works in collaboration with management and different teams to ensure project completion
  • Keeps abreast of changing departmental/project needs
  • Projects future needs and uses
  • In consultation with the appropriate manager, recruit, interview and select staff and/or volunteers with appropriate skills for the project activities
  • Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established policies and practices of the organization
  • Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project
  • Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate
  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Establish a communication schedule to and update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
  • Write reports on the project for management including maintaining project overview documents
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly or as per schedule set by management)
  • Assists in other assigned project(s) as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Helps develop system to collect metrics and analysis data for users/courses
  • Helps develop system to track user progress and develop/deploy suggestion/rating system

Content management:

  • Will work with team members to ensure all identified educational content is catalogued and collated into the main learning portal
  • McKesson teaching files: manage identified files, ensuring availability in SP and/or LL;
  • Maintain connection with McKesson and ensure updates as needed

SharePoint and LearningLink:

  • Help coordinate/facilitate meetings between different team members (SP,LL and Ed Comm.)
  • Help develop two-way interface between SharePoint and Learning Link
  • Work with digital workforce in developing better integration between courses/CME activities

Video Consults:

  • Research, test and deploy approved virtual consultation solution to enable radiologist participation in teaching rounds
  • Liaison with hospital units to identify possible issues and ensure timely resolution of such issues

Telepresence:

  • Identify vendor/technology, prepare and get approval of budget
  • Maintain contact with preferred vendor to ensure timeline compliance
  • Liaison with technical team on both sides to ensure smooth functioning of chosen solution

Support:

  • Provide support to all teams involved with the project
  • Help develop documentation for end-users

Proficiency in the use of computers for:

  • Word processing
  • Simple accounting
  • Data base management
  • Spreadsheets
  • E-mail
  • Internet

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

PMP Certification and/or Black Belt

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. 
  • 5 years project management experience
