Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of enterprise projects as assigned to support the strategic, tactical and operational needs of the Workers’ Compensation Board in partnership with senior leadership in the business units. The Project Manager will support the establishment and continuous improvement of the standards, procedures and practices of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). The Project Manager should be proficient in both agile and waterfall project management methodologies and project management toolsets.  This position will be responsible for providing leadership and team management for the assigned project team members; ongoing mentoring and support of project management capabilities across the organization and vendor management activities.

A University Degree from an accredited University

Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience as a project management professional in a medium to large systems environment with demonstrated experience in progressively responsible roles including:

  • Three to five years of direct project management experience
  • Managed 1-2 medium to large technology related or solution implementation projects from start to finish
  • Experience in the use of project management software and tools
  • Extensive and varied project management experience

The following designations and certifications will be considered as an asset in this position: PMP, Prince 2, ITIL v3, IIBA, Prosci Change Management, Lean or Six Sigma.


Prior project experience/qualifications in the following areas would be beneficial:

Workers Compensation or Insurance Industry

Project Management and Capacity Management

Vendor Management

Continuous Process Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma

Business Process Re-engineering                 

Business Analysis

Self Service Web Applications

Enterprise Content Management

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence, may be considered.
