Oregon State Treasury is recruiting for the position of Project Manager 2. This position will be located in our Salem office. The primary purpose of this position is managing and directing the processes and activities of multiple OST projects of various size and scope.


This appointment is a limited-duration position to cover a workload increase, and is expected to last for a two year period. However, the appointment may end at any time. This position is represented by SEIU.


Oregon State Treasury (OST) is led by Tobias Read, State Treasurer, a constitutional officer and statewide elected official. OST is an organization with a wide range of financial responsibilities, including managing the state’s pension fund, issuing all state debt, and serving as the central bank for state agencies. OST manages the daily investment of approximately $100 billion in assets, held in a diversified investment portfolio of domestic and international equities, fixed income securities, alternative and opportunistic investments, real estate and cash. OST also manages a banking program that processes over $250 billion in transactions annually, a debt management program responsible for issuing and monitoring approximately $10 billion in state debt, a multi-faceted 529 savings plan, and an IRA based retirement savings program for the public. The 150+ member OST staff takes great pride in their statewide and national reputation for progressive approaches to service delivery.

What you’ll do…


  • Be responsible for the management of small to mid-size projects at Oregon State Treasury.
  • Work with a team to achieve the goals of the project while sticking to the schedule and budget allotted for the work.
  • Be part of a Project Management Office that seeks to help Treasury achieve its mission through management of the projects throughout Treasury.
  • Facilitating meetings, preparing reports and presenting important information to decision makers in the organization will all be part of the daily workload.
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders and utilize your project management skills across a variety of projects.

You must have the following:


Five years of progressively responsible experience related to project management; OR


Four years of progressively responsible experience related to project management AND an Oregon Project

Associate Certification; OR


Two years of progressively responsible experience related to project management AND a Bachelor’s degree

in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field; OR


A Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.
