Rehrig Pacific seeks a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager!

The project manager will drive the effective management and execution of new product development (NPD) projects within Rehrig Pacific’s mechanical systems portfolio. This role will also provide occasional support to critical projects within the core product portfolio. The project manager will work cross functionally with sales, marketing, operations, and product design on new products project lasting one to two years. Additionally, this role is responsible for the creation, implementation, and the improvement of project management tools and NPD processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead project teams to the successful conceptualization, development, validation and launch of new products and services. Manage project scope, time, and costs. Develop and maintain project plan and schedule working collaboratively with the project team. Work with external customers to ensure product is ready for launch. 
  • Lead the project team in the identification of project risks and facilitate the development and execution of a mitigation plan when necessary. Ensure that all necessary development steps have been completed and team has stakeholder approvals prior to the launch of new products and/or services. Schedule gate-reviews when applicable to ensure alignment. 
  • Drive the development and implementation of world-class project management capabilities within Rehrig Pacific. 
  • Foster a culture of project success. Ensure high performance project teams are in place and team members are held accountable to keep projects on track. Create an environment which encourages collaboration and open communication amongst the team as well as drives individual accountability and ownership. Lead project teams to consensus, facilitating the internal resolution of team conflicts, elevating when necessary. 
  • Develop and track project performance metrics and provide status reports to drive overall improvement of the project portfolio. Gain commitment from cross functional managers on project resource allocation and alignment of key accountabilities for their respective team members. 
  • Provides ongoing support to the organization to increase the understanding of and continued conformance to the corporate NPD process.    
  • Create, improve, and implement new sub processes which support and expand upon the overall corporate NPD process.  Support other functions within Rehrig Pacific in the development of complimenting NPD processes. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Industrial or mechanical engineering degree preferred.  
  • PMP certification required. 
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple product development projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated mastery in the application of project management tools and techniques including risk management, resource planning, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven team leadership experience working collaboratively both vertically and horizontally throughout an organization.
  • Strong experience with designing, improving, and rolling out business processes.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and facilitate cross functional project teams to overcome challenges and achieve success.
  • In depth knowledge of a typical new product development process and the stages and activities which it encompasses.
  • Experience utilizing MS Project or similar project management software to develop and maintain project schedule and manage resource allocation.
  • Working experience as a design engineer or similar product design role is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and plastic injection molding is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
