Maher & Maher is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to play a critical role in helping implement workforce development initiatives across the country. This individual will manage projects, primarily with federal government agencies, that develop and deliver varied and innovative outreach, technical assistance, and training solutions. At the core of the Project Manager’s work is a commitment to fostering and maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high-quality products and services are delivered on time and on budget.

Location: Remote in the Washington, DC metro area, to participate in occasional in-person client meetings. 


  • Manage activities for one or more projects.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans.
  • Organize and lead team and client meetings.
  • Manage project budgets and the allocation of resources.
  • Communicate and build relationships with clients.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders, including team members, clients, and partners.
  • Manage technical assistance and training products and activities. 



Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience related to managing projects. Experience in the workforce development, education, or human services field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, including monitoring project budgets, developing and managing project plans, and developing resource allocations.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred, but not required.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • A self-starter with the demonstrated ability to lead project activities.
  • Ability to manage work on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Resourceful and capable in anticipating problems and effectively resolving challenges.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team.
  • Desire to learn new things and apply the latest trends and technologies to your work.

Travel: Candidates must be available for a limited amount of within the United States. 

Supervisory Responsibility: This role will not be responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department. 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment. 

Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
