This position is remote within our NC, SC, VA footprint. Although this position is primarily remote, there are occasional events and meetings that may require you to work on-site at one of our Truliant locations.

Purpose of the Job

Under minimal supervision of the Director of Project Management, the Project Manager II will be responsible for managing complex corporate projects requiring a strong proficiency in the areas of project planning, management and leadership.


 Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Leads the planning, resourcing, implementation and communication for key corporate initiatives.
  2. Follows prescribed project management process per Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines.
  3. Defines the project's organizational structure to include key stakeholders and resources.
  4. Develops and executes a comprehensive project plan to effectively define and manage scope, schedule, budget, communications, risk, and change control. 
  5. Identifies, documents, tracks and resolves issues involving project development, risks, and business decisions in a timely manner.
  6. Reports on the project's status per PMO guidelines.
  7. Establishes project team and executive oversight meetings per PMO guidelines, monitors and reports on the project’s work effort and overall status. 
  8. Follows PMO guidelines to manage changes in the project’s scope, schedule and budget.
  9. Monitors and controls all aspects of the project life cycle assuring the project stays within scope, budget and schedule.
  10. Manages the vendor relationship through implementation and assures a successful transition to the line of business. 
  11. Effectively analyzes and documents all change associated to a project gaining approval for identified impacts to time, budget and scope.
  12. Develops meeting agendas, facilitates project team meetings and captures key discussion points in detailed meeting minutes
  13. Provides support, guidance and leadership to members of the project team and stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have advanced knowledge in the use of MS Projects, Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
    • Must have practical knowledge of PMI standards for managing projects
  • Must be able to provide leadership and guidance toward process, business, and systems analysis
    • Must have expert knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of the general interoperability of financial industry business systems and processes
    • Must have excellent communication skills; in English, both verbal and written; excellent listening and questioning skills; proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization 
    • Must have excellent negotiation skills and demonstrate the ability to overcome objections
    • Must have superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, compassionate
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required, with the ability to research issues, summarize findings, and make meaningful recommendations
    • Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently in fast paced and complex business environment under minimal supervision
    • Must possess the ability to work consultatively to maximize the successful implementation of the project assigned
    • Must be able to work in a general office environment and remotely.
    • Must be detail oriented and have a high sense of accountability
    • Must be flexible and able to shift resources, priorities and schedule as required
    • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s members, both internal and external


Physical Requirements

  •    Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  •    Must be able to sit at a desk for moderate periods of time and use a computer
  •    Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds


Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance, or related field required
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Project Management within banking/credit union preferred
  • Must have demonstrated experience in successfully planning and managing complex, medium to large-scale, business projects
  • Business Analyst/Systems Analyst knowledge and/or experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
