The Scheduler 1 Float is as important as any other function in the healthcare delivery system. You, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, provide exceptional customer service by serving as the front line ambassador of service between the patient and the Medical Center. The Registration/Scheduling Representative - Float ensures a positive patient experience from the time a patient accesses the system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Greeting patients immediately, in a friendly, helpful and welcoming manner

+ Assisting patients in scheduling an appointment that meets their needs

+ Registering new patients, completely and accurately

+ Verifying demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate

+ Collecting Co-payments at the time of service

+ Answering phones in a friendly, helpful and welcoming manner, within SSM Health standards

+ Demonstrating a resourceful nature and actions when patients and/or internal customers have questions

+ Closing each encounter in a friendly, helpful manner

+ Travel to outlying clinic locations on a daily basis.

This person will float to our West Clinic, East Clinic; Outpatient Surgery Center; Wanunkee; Oncology Center; Oregon and our clinic on Fish Hatchery Rd.

Will know location at least two weeks in advance, but the need to be flexible is high. Will be supporting primarily primary care, but could also assist with multiple other departments.

Monday - Friday (hours will vary, 8 hour shift starting as early as 6:30 am or working as late as 8 pm)


+ Coordinates scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services. Obtains approval for schedule changes or cancellations as appropriate.

+ Assists with maintenance and updating of provider contact information.

+ Ensures that all medical appointments, special instructions and patient information is entered into electronic medical system.

+ Follows site-specific protocols and maintains up-to-date documentation to ensure compliance.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.


+ High school diploma or equivalent


+ No experience required


+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

+ Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

+ Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

+ Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

+ Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

+ Rare climbing.
