This position is located at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), an international leader in energy and environmental research, conducting projects for clients throughout the United States and the world.   • Working with principal investigators and project managers to facilitate scientific research.
  • Coordinating with technical and support teams to develop scopes of work, plan budgets and timelines, and execute research activities.
  • Maintaining knowledge of contractual scopes of work, timelines, budgets, and required deliverables and helping ensure adherence to these requirements.
  • Working with technical and nontechnical teams to coordinate and write proposals in response to federal, state, and commercial funding opportunities.
  • Monitoring project progress and proactively communicating and helping correct issues.
  • Preparing technical and nontechnical documents such as topical reports, posters, and progress reports.
  • Preparing slides for technical presentations using PowerPoint.

Required Competencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field.
  • 2 years of related experience and demonstrated skills relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience preparing proposals in response to federal or state funding opportunity announcements.
  • Experience writing, proofreading, and editing technical documents.
  • Familiarity with scientific nomenclature, e.g., chemical engineering, geoscience, geological, petroleum, chemistry, and/or reservoir engineering terms.
  • Experience working with and coordinating with multiple teams or groups, including technical, financial, and contractual groups to conduct research and/or manage projects.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience prioritizing, completing, and managing a variety of tasks, including data management.
  • Cover letter and resume or curriculum vitae.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience conducting or facilitating research for federal, state, and/or commercial clients.
  • Experience preparing, writing, and formatting documents following federal reporting requirements, including quarterly progress reports, topical reports, technical reports, and final reports.
  • Knowledge of and experience assisting with federal and/or nonfederal contracts negotiation.
  • Experience with risk management, including conducting risk assessments.
  • Experience using internet-based spreadsheet project management software, e.g., Smartsheet.
  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional certification.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$70,000 / year; Exempt; Benefited; Full-time

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to accommodate work activities/work life balance. Travel may be required.
