The Senor Business Analyst will be responsible for managing Client Services initiatives to automate and streamline current and future operational work including leading business process reengineering and application authentication initiative. The position will also be responsible for leading and supporting operations tasks related to user security access, application maintenance, configuration and audit and compliance for the University's suite of Enterprise Financial Systems, Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), Research Administration and Compliance Systems, Enterprise Financial Reporting Applications, and Student Information System (SIS).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with ATS Client Services and stakeholders in leading automating operations work including business process reengineering and application authentication initiative, supporting audit and compliance work and creating efficiencies for the team and our end users
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into systems requirements and scoping
  • Participate in the production support activities ensuring that user requests and incidents are resolved with our SLAs. Execute user access requests according to established policies and practices.
  • Provide functional support across the applications we support including project/release go-lives, which may include occasional evening or weekend work
  • Develop project management strategies for internal related projects
  • Assist with general administration, special projects, and perform other related job duties as needed
  • Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct

Working Conditions

Interview and onboarding activity for this position may be conducted via telephone & Zoom video conferencing.

This position will be based in Cambridge, MA. HUIT actively supports hybrid work where business and team needs allow. Additional detail will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA, CT, MA, MD, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT).

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

The following Additional Qualifications are strongly preferred. If you meet some, but not all, you are still encouraged to apply; we value employees with a willingness to learn.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably with coursework in information systems or information technology
  • At least two (2) years' experience working with administrative systems, preferable in business analyst capacity
  • Experience in analysis and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills, especially customer service skills and service mindset approach
  • Advanced desktop application skills including Excel, Word, MS Project, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio. Hands-on experience with ERP, research administration systems, or student information systems preferred. Proven ability to quickly assimilate to new technology and/or applications required
  • Experience with business process analysis and writing business requirements documents and/or functional specifications
  • Demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to get up to speed quickly in the Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) environment and with the enterprise applications we support.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
  • Must have proven ability to initiate and manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Able to work independently and within small and large teams
  • Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor
