Responsible for the strategic development, analysis, implementation, operations, communication and evaluation of Discover's compensation programs designed to align with Discover's overall strategic initiatives in a large complex organization. Manages the development of materials for committees such as Compensation and Leadership Development Committee of the Board of Directors and executive reward programs.


  • Oversees critical tactical and operational compensation objectives to align with corporate strategic plans ensuring internal and external regulatory compliance for compensation related requirements. Partners across HR/Technology on the implementation of various strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluates, develops, implements and communicates complex compensation policies and programs that support the short and long term business strategy of the organization, enabling it to attract, retain and motivate talented employees.
  • Overseas a team of direct reports. Ensures team's ability to provide effective and robust analytics and operational support to HR partners and business. Responsible for the coaching, hiring, firing of team members. Provides oversight and direction to staff.
  • Initiates various analysis projects and the design of new or special compensation programs designed to address particular market and business needs.
  • Leads the development of materials for internal parties such as the Compensation and Leadership Development of the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of executive reward programs.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Human Resources, Business, Finance, Continuous Improvement, Accounting, Law or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Compensation, Human Resources, Financial Services, Banking, Consulting or related

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Compensation, Human Resources, Financial Services, Banking, Consulting or related
