The Role:
Dematic’ s growing Americas software team is in need of Senior Managers that will lead teams of software project managers, and take responsibility for the successful execution of projects in the portfolio. The Senior Manager of Software Project Management will build relationships with our Customers and Dematic leaders to support implementation of intelligent Distribution Center Software Solutions, and in doing so, significantly impact the Americas Supply Chain.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Lead teams that are responsible for the software scope, schedule, resource planning, risk mitigation, change management, opportunity, delivery, and budget of Dematic projects (across varying degrees of automation or software-only). Make informed commitments to customers regarding the same.
Ensure the usage of standard project status communication tools, internal and external. Responsible for the change management to deploy the tools, reinforce and continually improve.
Ensure the usage of standard project schedule planning tools. Responsible for change management to deploy, reinforce and continually improve.
Interview, hire, onboard, coach, mentor and develop software project managers
Lead teams to manage software scope and utilize change controls relative to requests that impact software scope and schedule.
Stakeholder for standard proposal templates, which define software roles, schedules, deliverables and customer deliverables relative to software.
Review of new software opportunities to ensure proposals are actionable and meet ability of software team to successfully deliver.
Proactively seek ways to identify and mitigate project risks, lead teams to do the same.
Establish, maintain and strengthen all aspects of the customer relationship, internal and external
Coordinate with software application engineering teams to deliver software projects on time and on budget
Document project team feedback to drive process improvements for inflight and future projects
Ensure standard work and execution framework is followed, periodically evaluate, provide feedback on improvements in the standard work and tools.
Identify and justify staffing needs, follow HR processes to acquire talent.
Collaborate to continually improve onboarding, training materials and programs for Software Project Management
Collaborate with other Dematic disciplines to establish standards and tools for more efficient and improved quality of project execution.
Represent Dematic software project leadership in internal project reviews, as well as external Customer meetings.
Lead teams to achieve KPIs and team goals
Support execution of continuous improvement plans. Actively support project retrospectives and knowledge share across and within teams
Assign projects to project managers to support skillset and career growth.

Requirements

Technical Knowledge, Education & Experience a Candidate Must Possess

Experience leading and developing teams
Track record of successful software project delivery
Proven ability to lead internal technical resources through problem solving and set expectations with customers.
Understanding of software development and testing life cycle
Knowledge of development, definition, and execution of integration and acceptance test plans inclusive of physical, functional, non-functional, rate, and availability testing.
Experience managing project teams in either/both/combination of Waterfall, Agile, SaFe methodology
Experience managing scope of software projects whereby change management of both immediate incorporation and ongoing programs of work have been the result.
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail, Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, MS Project
Demonstrable understanding of the supply chain marketplace, ideally in an eCommerce, omnichannel, distribution environment.
Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar field
8+ years of software project management experience
PMP certification, like certification, or wiliness to achieve preferred
Experience delivering projects that integrate software with mechatronics as a wholistic solution.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to embrace a Hybrid work environment, including remote work and visits to Dematic offices and Customer sites
Willingness to travel 30%
