Position Summary:

This position supports the Chief Operating Officer in tracking and managing multiple complex projects, including coordinating task assignment and tracking of status with staff reporting to the COO. The Sr. PM will ensure that all project paperwork is reviewed and executed including contracts, deliverable schedules and required periodic reports to funders. S/He will ensure that staff resource conflicts are identified and resolved, that challenges with timely completion of deliverables are addressed, and prepare and circulate updates on upcoming tasks and deliverables as well as status reports to the COO and ED. S/He will be required to have knowledge of all project content areas to be able to perform these tasks within the small but complex Bronx RHIO infrastructure that combines technical and programmatic work within all projects. This position will also coordinate ongoing review of alignment of statewide policies and procedures with Bronx RHIO internal policies and procedures and integrate those efforts with our ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement program.


Requirements

Education/Skills:

  • Master's Degree required. Six years’ experience
  • Project Management training
  • Health care delivery systems operations and key organizations in the Bronx
  • Health plan familiarity
  • Understanding of the complexity of health-related data through previous experience with data analysis
  • Project management software competency
  • Understanding of contract processing and invoicing
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in grant writing and grants management
  • Knowledge of governmental funding compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and requirements for local compliance implementation
  • Full competence in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, etc.

 

Problem solving:

  • Coordination of effort and resources across Bronx RHIO internal team and Shatzkin Systems consulting staff: Priorities at SSI may not be aligned with internal RHIO priorities at all times. Incumbent will need to address conflicting priorities to ensure that required work is done in a timely manner as required for committed deliverable dates. This will include negotiating with SSI managers about reorganizing or reassigning tasks and may require escalating issues to the COO for resolution.
  • Identifying and addressing potential problems in contract/agreement language with clients and/or funders, as well as negotiating situations where the same external counsel represents both organizations and waivers must be obtained from the parties to allow counsel to proceed.
  • Developing strategies for working with clients who have unrealistic expectations for completion of projects. This requires tact and finesse!
  • Producing funding proposals on very short turnaround deadlines. Requires creativity and willingness to be flexible with work hours when deadlines are imminent.
  • Management of P&Ps requires sophisticated ability to interpret state requirements, other regulations and organize a currently disorganized set of Plans, Policies and Procedures to reduce duplication, create clarity and maintain compliance with ever changing certification requirements.
  • Information Sharing coordination requires interpretation of federal regulations and coordination with our multi-disciplinary review committee, technical staff and vendors requesting data. As a new set of regulations with high fines for non-compliance, this project requires problem solving to interpret data sharing requests vis a vis the regulations and internal/state policies and procedures.
