Grand Canyon National Park Lodges is the primary in-park concessionaire at Grand Canyon National Park, South Rim.  We are a division of Xanterra Travel Collection, which is a global travel and Hospitality Company, and the United States' largest operator of park-based hotels, restaurants and stores.

The Senior Project Manager will coordinate the design, compliance, project approvals and construction efforts for projects outlined in the contract’s Concessioner Funded Improvement Plan and Maintenance Plan.  Stakeholders will include department directors and the project team consisting of architects, the National Park Service, and general contractors.  Working with this team and the external CFIP Project Manager, the Senior Project Manager will delegate tasks, monitor project milestones (deadlines, budgets, and personnel), hold meetings to evaluate goals and status, and troubleshoot same.

This position is based inside park boundaries and provided with low-cost in-park housing.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of three years’ experience in facility management or construction/project management in a multi-unit facility, preferably a hotel/resort operation.
  2. Project Management experience including cost estimating, bid notices, and contract negotiations. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.  
  3. Knowledge of physical plant operations, including boilers, generators, pumps, waste/water treatment systems, gas/fuel lines, and power lines.
  4. Must have a good working knowledge of construction and maintenance operations, equipment and facilities.
  5. Must be able to read blue prints and have a good understanding of Design Standards by discipline and experience with CAD software.
  6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and understand CMMS database programs.
  7. Must be able to efficiently communicate and coordinate working relationships within the company, National Park Service personnel, and independent contractors through effective writing and speaking skills.
  8. Knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws concerning environmental issues, risk management, and safety including NEPA, NHPA and the ESA.
  9. Knowledge of construction, mechanical and specialized trade skills and their current codes.
  10. Knowledge of OSHA (General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926) safety and health standards in cooperation with Xanterra policies, procedures and programs.
  11. Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills; strong ability in working with numbers.
  12. Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience with concurrent large, complex engineering projects.
  13. Proven problem resolution abilities.
  14. Must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with all Xanterra’s company policies and procedures. Must be able to understand the Concessions contract between NPS and Xanterra Parks & Resorts.
  15. Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, Arizona driver’s license or be able to obtain one in the first 30 days, and comply with the company Driver Safety Program.
