Our Greenville, South Carolina office has the opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the firm’s expanding Project Management department. The Senior Project Manager (PM) will report to the Manager, PMO and is responsible for advancing the Project Management Office (PMO) by working with cross-functional teams in the implementation and efficient execution of all project-type initiatives at the Firm. The PM will provide portfolio level support of all internal operational projects across the Firm, working with and supporting project sponsors and owners.

Requirements

Essential Functions:  

  • Assist stakeholders with the creation of business cases and project requests.

  • Guide and assist process mapping to create efficiency in key functions of a stakeholder’s business delivery of services, including utilization of lean methodologies.

  • Assist and guide teams in all phases of projects including ideation, defining project scope, goals and deliverables that meet the business needs of the Firm and our clients.

  • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers, while anticipating and mitigating risks to projects.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status to team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans, as needed.

  • Effectively applies appropriate PMO methodologies and enforces project standards.

  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.

  • Partner with the Firm’s Directors including but not limited to Accounting, IT, HR, Operations, and Client Service departments.

  • Develop and conduct training on project management processes for staff, and helps to guide and mentor junior members of PMO team, as appropriate.

  • Promote greater transparency, predictability, and accountability for all projects across the firm.

  • Provide metrics based and custom developed reports with analytical observations to program participants to best inform business decisions.

  • Develop trainings and tools, and think strategically about ways to further the dissemination of portfolio management as a best practice.

  • Also supports Senior Manager and Director of PMO with reporting functions and other directives, as needed.

 

Requirements: 

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management or in a related area with 4+ years of experience in a law firm, professional services, or in a related organization.

  • PMP certification required.

  • Deep experience in process mapping/design with requisite technology applications (such as Visio or other) to graphically represent process workflow, strong expertise in Smartsheet, demonstrated organizational skills.

  • High capacity to perform with urgency in a fast paced work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work closely with senior level leaders and teams.

  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Project administration and management experience beneficial. Previous experience in a partnership and professional services environment preferred.

  • Proven ability to readily comprehend business objectives and develop and execute appropriate business strategies.

  • Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with Internet and web-based platforms.

  • Strong judgment and ability to make well-reasoned independent decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; strong reporting skills.

  • Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones in a matrix organization. Strong interpersonal skills, including pleasant nature and ability to influence others.

  • Organized, detailed oriented individual with strong project management skills.

  • Strong client service orientation.
