Role Description:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for successful delivery of IBM's largest and most complex client commitments.

Individuals within this specialty and skill set manage client engagements, ensuring delivery of solutions for complex IT, business and client requirements. They are responsible for leading a project team in delivering a solution to the client using the appropriate business measurements and terms and conditions for the project according to the project charter, project agreement or contract.

Engagements may be characterized by a complex combination of technical, business, financial, and human resources issues related to the strategic and tactical direction of the program and / or clients. Programs are normally large and complex situations that are often global in scope and negotiations are conducted at the highest levels. This role requires an extraordinary team leader, an astute business person, exhibit exceptional business insight, with executive/boardroom presence and outstanding judgment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overall performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management;
  • Managing all project resources, including subcontractors, and for establishing an effective communication plan with the project team and the client;
  • Providing day to day direction to the project team and regular project status to the client.
You will...
  • Have senior level Project Management Skills and Experience for Realtime Communication Software/System projects;
  • Have Relevant experience with Software Maintenance and Troubleshooting as well as new feature development Configuration Management, Requirement Management and Software and Testing Best Practices;
  • Be a forward thinker who can bring innovative approaches and practical solutions, as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Hold a Canadian SECRET security clearance.

NOTE: This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. To be eligible for employment in this role, you must be a Canadian citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Demonstrated ability to:
  • Analyze Business & IT Challenges;
  • Apply Strategic Innovative Thinking for Insights, Apply Strategic Risk Taking;
  • Manage Complex Business Outsourcing Contracts;
  • Apply Deal Making Techniques to Complex Opportunities;
  • Lead Development of Steady State/Large/Complex Deals/Bids/Programs; and apply Risk Management Skills.
At least 8-10 years experience with:
  • Program, Project, and/or People Management;
  • Delivering IT solutions throughout the solution development life cycle;
  • Leading successful IT projects as the Project Manager or Leader.

At least 5-7 years experience with:
  • Leading the Development and Steady State of a Large/Complex program;
  • Building relationships with senior leaders within an organization;
  • Defining project scope and project plans/budgets for successful technology projects.


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

At least 8+ years experience with:
  • Leading the Development and Steady State of a Large/Complex program;
  • Building relationships with senior leaders within an organization;
  • Defining project scope and project plans/budgets for successful technology projects.
Asset: PMP certification.
