UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central IT organization for the University of Washington, providing critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers and global research operations. UW-IT collaborates with University partners to advance teaching, learning, innovation and discovery at the UW. The Project Management Office (PMO) oversees UW-ITs project portfolio to ensure that the overall collection of projects is aligned with the Universitys mission and strategic goals; and provides consultation and expert project management support for high-priority projects. The Senior Project Manager in UW-ITs PMO is responsible for: - Project Management: This role will be responsible for project managing and bringing to a successful closure a broad range of high-profile, complex projects at the University of Washington and its affiliated organizations. This position utilizes a broad spectrum of skills which include IT knowledge (networking, telecommunications, data center, cloud-based computing, security), business process analysis, problem solving, public relations, contract negotiation, cost structuring, financial management / budgeting and extensive project management skills. The position purview includes all units within UW-IT, ensuring that staff and management apply relevant project management practices. This position uses the tools, techniques, and processes provided by global project management standards and guides. - Leadership: This role will provide coaching, mentorship and training for other project managers designated at the UW as adjunct and embedded project managers and those interested in project management as a skill and/or career path. Governance: This role will own the project and portfolio management processes working with leadership to define success and ensure project and portfolio results align with UW-IT priorities as defined by goals and objectives. As senior PM, this role will strategically identify areas for continuous improvement and work closely with UW-IT senior leadership to hone their knowledge of PMO processes. REQUIREMENTS DESIRED: WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Hybrid 1 4 days per week in office. Open office environment, with meetings held in a variety of buildings on and off campus.
