Job Description
AECOMs NY Metro Transit Rail Planning team is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Transit & Rail for immediate employment.
As Senior Project Manager Transit & Rail you will report to the Vice President, NY Metro Transit Rail Planning and will provide leadership and technical guidance to expand the teams plangineering expertise (conceptual design and rail engineering to support feasibility through preliminary design). You will also be supporting new business development through industry and client outreach, identifying new business opportunities, and preparing responses to agency Requests for Proposals (RFPs). And as Senior Project Manager you will interface with transit/rail planning and engineering colleagues throughout AECOMs global and national offices.
Typical responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Technical guidance for transit rail planning assignments within NY Metro.
Project management, project controls, scope/schedule/budget adherence for project assignments
Mentoring and building transit rail planning staff
Coordinating with NY Metros multidisciplinary/multimodal planning and engineering practices
Client-specific business development strategies
Managing AECOM and its subconsultants interdisciplinary resources.
Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
Manages more complex clients and projects.
Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BS/BA plus six or more years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bachelors degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Must possess a valid driver's license plus good driving record
Preferred Skills/Experience:
15+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, good time management skills, and an attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure
Masters degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Familiarity with freight or transit rail and clients
Previous work experience in rail design or construction is preferred

Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education,
qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this
position is $100,000 to $186,000.
