Veriforce’s PMO is seeking a senior project manager with a strong background in tech - an agilist who understands the interdependence of complex technical systems and multiple teams of people, and can align them to business goals. This individual contributor role requires robust experience managing software engineering and development projects for SaaS enterprises. The initial projects for this position will include several strategic product and engineering initiatives - these are board-level initiatives.
This PM is someone who knows how to motivate virtual teams and manage multiple priorities at once. Experienced in BOTH predictive and adaptive project management disciplines, this individual knows how to tailor methods for the varying needs of each project. As an excellent communicator and servant leader, they keep delivery teams engaged and motivated and can present critical status updates to stakeholders, providing work performance reports that are both accurate and meaningful.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful collaboration. The ability to work in a matrixed environment through influence with the Product Management and Engineering teams especially will prove crucial for successful delivery.
As a lifelong learner, this individual has relevant industry certifications, such as one or more of the following: PMP, PMI-ACP, DASM, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, et al.
This position reports to the Head of PMO.
A Typical Day Might Include:
  • Hosting a daily standup with a delivery team
  • Creating summary reports for executive leadership
  • Removing impediments
  • Helping Product Management & Engineering build resource plans & reports
  • Composing work performance reports (including burn up/down charts and earned value data)
  • Facilitating a sprint planning session and/or retrospective
 As a Project Manager, you’re responsible for:
  • Partnering with stakeholders, including members of executive leadership, to clarify and firm up the scope of strategic technology product development initiatives for alignment with enterprise-level goals
  • Working closely with product managers and engineering to facilitate alignment and collaboration
  • Partner with group leaders to define, rationalize, and prioritize workstreams
  • Blending sound project management strategies and tactics to tailor an agile approach that prioritizes quality, speed of delivery, and scalability
  • Holds delivery team members accountable - driving technically sound releases on time and on budget, celebrating wins and coaching where increased accountability is necessary
  • Manages project budget, scope, and schedule with precision
  • Ensures successful, on-time delivery of solution releases
  • Delivers work performance reports that are both accurate and meaningful
  • Acts as point of contact for all stakeholders on in-flight projects
  • Manages the project asset/artifact repository and coordinates lessons learned and operational insights for the PMO’s archives
  • Facilitates the delivery team with a servant leadership style, getting impediments out of their way, coordinating working sessions, standups, iteration reviews/demos, retrospectives, etc that are both engaging and motivating to the team, while also holding everyone accountable to the expectations of the project sponsor


Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in business, information systems, or computer science)
  • 10 years experience project managing complex development and engineering projects, in both agile (adaptive) and waterfall (predictive) environments
  • PMP certification required and/or other relevant certification(s) such as PMI-ACP, DASM, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, et al
  • Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma belts are strongly preferred 
  • Familiarity and experience in a variety of PM methodologies and can tailor tactical approaches based on project goals, available resources, and team needs/capabilities.
  • Excellent PMIS management skills 
  • Strong command of lean, agile leadership and product delivery
  • Superb stakeholder management skills with experience interfacing with executive leadership
