Bring your project management experience to the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) and become the Agency's Project Manager! 

A cash allowance of $600/month will be added to the starting pay*

At Sonoma Water, the Project Manager is the primary role in the agency responsible for establishing and maintaining a centralized project management program and systems to support the coordination and effective utilization of resources towards key project completion. This work includes:

• Activity and resource planning
• Cost estimating and supporting budget development
• Establishing, convening, managing, and motivating diverse project teams
• Acting as a facilitator to ensure project completion and alignment with established goals
• Implementing and controlling time management practices
• Analyzing and managing project risk
• Monitoring project progress
• Managing project-related reports and necessary documentation
• Providing general oversight and administration of Sonoma Water’s Strategic Plan

Sonoma Water's new Project Manager will be a creative thinker who is adept at project management and has experience utilizing management tools and technology systems to track and move projects forward. The ideal candidate will have a strategic approach to managing deliverables, meeting project milestones, and addressing budget and business needs. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• College-level coursework in business, construction, construction management, engineering, and/or project management 
• Experience budgeting, planning, and forecasting costs
• Some experience coordinating and administering architectural, engineering, or construction capital projects 
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills
• Collaboration and negotiation skills, and the ability to build effective and positive working relationships
• The ability to remain open-minded, fair, and objective when addressing competing interests
• A pro-active, can-do approach while managing multiple key projects
