The Sr. Civil Engineer – Main Replacement Planning participates in the management and development of long-term plans including analysis, planning and development of the water and sewer main replacement programs. The Sr. Civil Engineer ensures good engineering practices are used, guides and trains junior engineers, and provides problem resolution to design and construction.
- Participates in the cost-effective and efficient bundling of projects through the use of optimization tools, based upon specified constraints and programs.
- Leads professional engineers, other engineering personnel, and administrative personnel
- Conducts or leads the study, development, and design of a variety of large, complex projects
- Frequently coordinates with internal and external stakeholders and communicates shared information including, but not limited to, state, county, and municipal highway departments, gas, and telecommunication utility companies
- Participates in the formulation of long-range systems and facilities infrastructure monitoring/improvements projects/program
- Provides project management of various pipeline and facilities planning projects
- Initiates and manages contracts to support pipeline and facilities infrastructure management programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of civil engineering experience
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering
- Ability to prepare and effectively present technical, and comprehensive reports verbally and in writing

Ability to relate well with superiors, subordinates, peers, consultants, contractors, general public, and public and regulatory agency officials
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland preferred
- PMP professional preferred
