Sr. Product Manager - Tech, Amazon Photos on Fire TV & Devices

Amazon.com
Seattle, WA 98104

DESCRIPTION

Every day, people around the world make new memories and every day people connect with each other and their history by reminiscing in memories past.

Amazon Photos€™ mission is to help our customers store, relive and share a lifetime of memories - and we do it by earning our customers€™ trust with a service that is relied on by millions of Prime members, inventing new experiences to surprise and delight our customers, and by integrating deeply with Amazon€™s other products like Alexa and Fire TV in order to make these memories shine in your home.

We have been growing as a business and now we are growing as a team, looking to add a Sr PM to our Product Management team to work on developing new at home, photo experiences for Fire TV, Tablet, and future devices.

What challenges / opportunities you will face
A winning photos experience can deliver joy to customers throughout the day: a walk through memory lane with €œThis Day€ as you start your morning, a smile generated as you walk by an Echo Show or Fire TV or glance a beautiful family portrait printed on the wall; and, at the end of a refreshing weekend when you share the dozens of memories captured with grandparents far away and receive their heartfelt thanks.

However, while the opportunity to enrich people€™s lives is enormous, we are at a structural disadvantage to the two incumbents in our market-segment: both own/develop mobile operating systems where they€™ve integrated their photos apps at levels we do not have access to and both have over a decade head-start building features and technology to create photos experiences.

The right candidate for this role loves to be the underdog, has an enduring belief that Amazon can build something important in this product category with the right amount of innovation and customer obsession, and relishes in this unique challenge and opportunity.

The unique responsibilities of this role
As a Sr PM on Amazon Photos' Devices PM team, you will collaborate with a team of fellow PMs who also deliver Photos experiences across Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Echo Show, Alexa and the Alexa app, extending the core Amazon Photos offering on these devices in a way which is endemic to their use and inventing new Amazon Photos experiences we can bring back into our Core apps and services. You will work closely with the Amazon Devices organization to invent new experiences on devices which are already in millions of homes, and also collaborate on new devices which have yet to be invented. As you invent, you will work with a team of UX designers and feature product managers to make sure we are building a cohesive customer experience across every surface area. You will also collaborate with the marketing organizations of the Amazon Photos and Amazon Devices teams to identify new ways to educate customers about photos experiences, grow our customer base, and be responsible for setting and tracking the right goals to track our success.

How to introduce yourself
In the above job description, we have tried to be as explicit as possible about what we are looking for in this role. Therefore, an introductory email to us would read similar to the following:

€œI have worked in product management for 5[+] years, delivering customer-facing products which people love to use. For example, in my role as product owner of 'Product X,' I owned the entire product life-cycle, from inception to research, development/execution and post-launch iteration, ultimately achieving notable 'Success Y.' In addition, I have worked directly with senior management on project Z, which brought significant additional €˜value Q€™ to the enterprise and our customers. My success as a builder comes from the synthesis of my deep product knowledge and ability to create primary research (Dive Deep + Invent & Simplify) and have delivered successful products throughout my career (Deliver Results). I am excited by the Amazon Photos business and the prospect of working in an entrepreneurial environment to help a new business invent on behalf of customers and scale.€
