This role will report into the global product team that enables and supports Amazon€™s Product Assurance, Risk and Safety (PARS) team. This team owns technology products that span all of Amazon€™s consumer and retail business such as Amazon.com, Amazon Private Brands, Amazon Go, Whole Foods, Amazon Devices, Amazon€™s third party fulfillment business, etc. You will have the opportunity to interact and work with emerging businesses at Amazon from inception through rapid growth. We€™re looking for a strong technical Sr. Product Manager to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role will be the product owner for the universal safety and compliance store to provide all downstream systems with a single source of truth for product compliance and safety decisions. This involves building interactive technology to serve the ever-changing regulatory landscape, machine learning driven products to identify hidden signals, and robust closed loop tools to protect our customers. The products are supported by established tech teams, and have a growing list of global stakeholders. You should have strong problem-solving skills, product management skills, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of how developers build, manage, and deploy their infrastructure and applications. You should also possess the ability to influence people across the organization from tech leadership to business managers. To do this, you must be able to manage complex initiatives across numerous business models, create certainty out of ambiguous requirements, while having a firm grasp over the operational, strategic, and technical aspects of the product.
You will work closely with various PARS teams globally. You will also work with various product engineering and applied/data scientist teams, as well as across Amazon (product and engineering) supporting the broader businesses. This includes retail tech, fulfillment operations, legal, businesses and their respective executive teams. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, data-driven, resourceful, customer-focused, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. Prior functional experience working in tech product management, managing product roadmaps, and tech strategy is preferred.

You must be able to:
· Work with internal and external the org customers to understand their use cases and their existing solutions. Drive requirements definition, CX design, compliance, feature development priority, and product messaging.
· Collaborate with your engineering and business teams to drive the product roadmaps for PARS.
· Define product strategy and vision, and own the product roadmap and related literature.
· Address bottlenecks, identify inefficiencies, anticipate and make tradeoffs; balance the business and customers€™ needs versus technical constraints.
· Own business metrics for customer engagement, and operational reliability. Design mechanisms to ensure long-term product or business success.
· Own Business Requirement Documents, User Stories, Use Cases, and Product Strategy documents.
· Evaluate technical solutions with alternatives and decompose significantly complex problems into concise and effective technical propositions.
· Partner with multiple tech and product teams across multiple locations with varying sets of priorities to ensure a timely delivery of the solution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (computer science or engineering)
  • 5+ years of Product Management in technical domain, product marketing or technology
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience overseeing technical product roadmap strategy and definition
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Masters in STEM related field.
  • Knowledge of software development, coding, and software architecture.
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, operations, or logistics.
  • Experience working with in-house technology teams and product teams.
  • Experience in data analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Self-starter/start-up mentality
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating technical requirements and solutions to internal and external audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Deep Learning techniques.

The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $151,200 - 204,600/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Transparency Regulation of Jersey City Municipal Code. Base pay information is based on market location. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $151,200 - 204,600/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
