We are currently looking to fill the following position in our Hartford, CT office:

Senior Project Manager – Software Implementation

As a Senior Project Manager within our EPMO, you will be responsible for leading software development and client implementation projects in a highly visible and fast-paced environment, as well as providing mentorship and guidance to Project Managers within the team. Projects will range in size and complexity but will allow you to work with a variety of clients including tier one nationally recognized insurance carriers. Your expertise in project management methodology, the software development life cycle, along with strong leadership and communication skills will contribute to the success of the EPMO.

We’re currently looking to add several Project Managers to our team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Run multiple projects simultaneously to support the successful implementation of new applications and systems based on business and client objectives including:
    • Developing detailed project plans
    • Constructing Work Breakdown Structures
    • Report status of plan, and track change controls, risks, and issues for that plan
    • Maintain and monitor project plan execution
    • Provide input on financial and resourcing aspects of the plan
    • Drive the delivery of services to the client, managing client inquiries and requests as assigned
    • Manage weekly project meetings and monthly status reporting – including meeting preparations, scheduling, agenda preparation, content and presenter planning, documenting and distributing minutes and action items, scheduling any follow-up sessions, etc.
  • Negotiate with first line resource managers for project resources; as well as effectively communicate with Product Engineering and Sales on resourcing
  • Develop strong relationships across the business to ensure the project team is successful
  • Through expertise with PMBOK, define and manage scope, schedule, resources and quality against the needs of the project and overall business strategy
  • Collaborate and provide mentorship and guidance to peers on project management methodologies
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.


What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a Project Manager role leading complex software implementation projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • PMP certification is required
  • Knowledge of various project delivery methodologies (SDLC, Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
  • In-depth understanding of software engineering and the software development lifecycle with practical experience delivering application development projects
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance including specific experience in either personal or commercial insurance, preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Travel is required and may be up to 40%
