Your Role and Responsibilities
Project Manager in San Diego, full-time employment on established project with large government client. Immediate hire, working onsite 5 days per week at client office leading complex information technology integration project using database, master data management and reporting technologies within an SOA architecture. Must be located in San Diego or willing to relocate.

Position Description: Experienced Project Manager will perform the following duties:
  • Provide overall leadership and supervision of interdisciplinary teams assigned to the project including functional and technical personnel.
  • Achieve project goals and objectives as outlined in the Statement of Work.
  • Create and deliver project management deliverables and updates including Project Work Plan, Risk and Issue Logs and Mitigations, Status Reports, Meeting Minutes, Project Management Plan including all associated appendices and procedures, and other customer facing documents and deliverables as may be specified.
  • Perform schedule updates to maintain the Project Work Plan and create work packages to be performed by all project personnel to achieve all project activities and deliverables as planned.
  • Create and maintain project change, risk, issue and decision logs. Manage and maintain a centralized repository of project documents and information on a Project Sharepoint or equivalent portal.
  • Interact with the client on site and the project team on a daily basis as may be needed to lead, coordinate work, resolve issues, report status and conduct other interactions as may be needed to ensure customer satisfaction and the success of the project.
  • Lead multiple projects assigned by the client PMO.
  • Actively manage project scope and change management procedures.
  • Actively manage project budget and report status via financial reporting tools.
  • Actively manage customer satisfaction, develop and report on satisfaction metrics and remediate issues that detract from customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Program Manager in establishing and maintaining positive client, subcontractor and vendor relationships and other duties as may be assigned.



Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Must be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or have an equivalent certification in Project Management with experience running large complex projects.
  • Must be well versed and demonstrated understanding of the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Must have 10+ yrs experience managing projects of increasing size and complexity including system development and deployment of a large-scale, web-based portal or information exchange system, or a project to build, maintain or use large data warehouses.
  • Strong MS Project or equivalent scheduling software experience.
  • Strong MS Office software skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience with projects using various software development methodologies including waterfall and Agile.
  • Experience in full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, emotional intelligence and leadership presence.



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • A good understanding of government operations at the State/County level.
  • Experience managing projects in the health and human services industry.
  • Experience with projects implementing COTS products.
  • Experience with projects using web-based architectures.
  • Experience with projects using Oracle or other SQL database technologies.
  • Experience with projects using Master Data Management technologies (IBM InfoSphere MDM preferred)
  • Experience with projects using Business Intelligence or Analytics products or technologies.
  • Experience with projects that include security and SPI/PHI and HIPAA-regulated data.
  • Experience standing up, maintaining or coordinating data center environments.
