Job Responsibilities

CDM Smith currently has a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Orlando, FL operations. We are looking for someone who has excellent client interaction skills and can manage and lead project teams for complex multidisciplinary water and environmental projects in Florida. In this position, you will be the main point of contact for our Orlando water and environmental clients, manage complex multi-disciplined projects for Florida municipalities, manage and mentor project teams and develop the scope and budget for projects. This role would have the opportunity to assist with marketing & business development efforts to enhance and expand our client base and opportunities in the central Florida municipal market.

Our Orlando office is one of our design centers, and has strong water and environmental expertise to support our current and future projects in the greater Florida municipal markets.

CDM Smith has been providing engineering services across the Florida market for over 50 years. Our services have spanned the areas of modeling, master planning studies, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, solid waste and storm water facilities. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:

• Managing and serving as the lead Project Manager on major civil and environmental projects.
• Arranging, facilitating and preparing for meetings/coordination with major municipal clients such as: Cities, Towns, and Counties as well as key project stakeholders.
• Building and managing relationships with key planning leaders within major municipal clients.
• Assisting with preparing design drawings and specifications.
• Developing budget, scope and schedule, monitoring adherence for tasks and projects managed.
• Quality management of key deliverables related to projects and tasks managed as well as projects and tasks managed by others.
• Responsible for implementation of firm’s quality procedures at project and task levels.
• Providing high level planning and programming analysis work including preparation of technical documents and reports.
• Being active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.
• Serving as a leader of project teams and mentor to junior staff, including the coordination and reviewing of project assignments
• Effectively working with key technical specialists, project team members, and delivery managers
• Preparing, monitoring, and managing project budgets and schedules while managing the firm's risk (project management)
• Providing oversight/administration of field construction work, including engineering services during construction
• Assisting CDM Smith Client Service Leaders in business development pursuits for water and environmental projects
• Being active in the municipal public works and utility industry, keeping abreast of emerging technologies, research and development opportunities, and conference/committee participation in professional societies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering
• Professional engineering (PE) license
• 12 years of related experience
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.  The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
