Sr. Telehealth Project Manager

At TxMOUD, we are an interdisciplinary team committed to reducing the burden of substance use in Texas by expanding access to compassionate, evidence-based treatment and recovery support services. Our programs organize around three pillars: clinical service delivery to expand access to treatment for individuals with substance use disorder; workforce training and technical assistance to improve the quality of care and expand our skilled treatment workforce and clinical research to develop cutting-edge treatments and disseminate them into communities.

Responsible for developing and executing the project plan for a large academic department, optimizing the development and implementation of practice in the regional public school system. Responsible for providing leadership and management to clinical practice(s) and for its day-to-day operations in a telehealth setting to ensure appropriate systems, policies, and procedures are in place to drive quality clinical outcomes, patient, staff, physician satisfaction, and excellent financial performance.

Job Duties:

  1. Tracks all-new Telehealth opportunities and develops and implements operational plans for hospital and school-based telehealth initiatives.
  2. Extensively researches and coordinates with existing telehealth programs on US school systems, telehealth support, and prison system models with current programs.
  3. Manages projects to meet all required project goals, including but not limited to: cost, quality, efficient utilization of resources, and timeliness.
  4. Builds relationships with all clinicians (physicians and school nurses) in partner and prospective partners in the Telehealth network, including all telehealth models.
  5. Identifies barriers or potential gaps for network partners related to internet technology, compliance, and security services to ensure support and coordination of technical issues with telehealth issues.
  6. Performs risk management to minimize project risks
  7. Develops implementation workflows to standardize implementation across Hospital Emergency Rooms and Schools.
  8. Interacts extensively with telehealth vendors regarding hardware technology, software providers, UT System VHN, and UTH/UTHP IT Department.
  9. Assists in coordinating, tracking, and reporting telehealth program activities for telehealth service lines, including site visits in rural communities and educational requests.
  10. Identifies and inform stakeholders of critical milestones of a project.
  11. Creates and executes a communication plan to all parties.
  12. Creates risk management, contingency plan, identifying problems, and proposes solutions.
  13. Proactively manages projects to minimize variances to plan.
  14. Participates in site visits to evaluate location(s) and infrastructure needs.
  15. Works with the user(s) to develop performance criteria.
  16. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in Healthcare, IT, and/or Administration. Ambulatory experience preferred.
  • Experience with compliance and IT security in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of information technology and its application to the health care environment; electronic medical records experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate with technology personnel, clinicians, and administrators. 
  • Demonstrated success in program implementation, operations, and fiscal management; attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prepare, organize and maintain accurate and detailed reports and files. 
  • Self-driven and able to work independently and to meet established deadlines. 
  • Physician Relations or Mediation experience and some exposure to Billing/ Data Analysis preferred. 

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
