Position Summary

The Technical Product Manager, Admission Testing Programs is responsible for helping organize the set of enhancements that comprise the roadmap for the Admission testing program, outreach to schools and families, and ensuring responsiveness to daily customer service requests. This person also serves as liaison between the ISEE Program Direction team and the vendor’s Research and Development team. This position plays a key role in ensuring that program direction work is managed according to well-defined product management processes, and that enhancements are identified, designed, and implemented in a timely manner.

 

Location: ERB mid-town New York City office

Reports To: Executive Director, Admission Testing Programs


Major Responsibilities:

 The major responsibilities include product management and outreach to families and schools.

Program Management

  •  Manage the product roadmaps for the Admission testing program; work closely with UX and member stakeholders to define requirements and work with development teams to ensure faithful implementation of requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with other ERB development priorities (e.g., cross-product score reporting, new Analytics and Insights initiatives)
  • Acquire deep understanding of our members and the ecosystem of stakeholders we support: families, students, admission staff, and placement staff.
  • In collaboration with UX professionals, lead ideation and design sessions to conceptualize enhancements, create and validate prototypes, and define requirements; organize stakeholder feedback sessions to test new ideas
  • Serve as liaison between the ISEE Program Direction team and the vendor’s Research and Development team.

 Outreach:

  • Respond to calls and emails from families and ERB member schools regarding the ISEE
  • Meet with admission staff and represent the ISEE at independent school parent fairs to promote an understanding of the ISEE
  • Help arrange ISEE informational events throughout the country for current ERB member schools that use ISEE

 

 



 

 

Requirements

Ideal Experience

Ideally, the Technical Product Manager will have a general understanding of the product development and design process, strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation, as well as:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, with minimum 3 to 5 years of related work experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent proofreading skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions and implement cost-effective measures
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism
  • Flexibility and strong commitment to getting the job done, especially in the face of deadlines in the busy testing seasons
  • Experience with MS Office and G-Suite
  • Ethical conduct in all things
  • Experience working in the context of K-12 private, independent, or parochial schools (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience interpreting and explaining results from educational tests (preferred, but not required)
