The Technology Project Management Officer at Austin Energy reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for overall leadership of the technology Project Management Office (PMO) in the Technology and Data business unit. The Technology Project Management Officer ensures that the work of the PMO adds value, is relevant to the strategy of the organization, and meets the goals set for the PMO by executive management. In this enterprise leadership role, the Technology Project Management Officer and their team deliver projects that enable safe delivery of clean, affordable, and reliable electricity and excellent customer service to the residents of Austin and surrounding areas. Furthermore, the PMO plays a key role in enabling adoption of new and trans formative technologies that help meet Austin Energy’s future strategic goals.

• Experience leading/directing the activities of one or more project management divisions
• Experience defining PMO mission, goals, and operating model, with engagement from senior leadership and business partners
• Experience fostering a project-management-oriented culture and mindset
• Experience providing processes and resources in support of project delivery across an organization
• Experience defining, managing, and directing the needed end-to-end PMO work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying, and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases.
• Experience implementing project management best practices to achieve higher maturity in PPM.
• Experience leading projects that require organizational change management.
• Experience strengthening successful partnerships between the PMO, IT and business partners to ensure consistent delivery of projects leveraging shared resources and contributors
