The Technology Project Manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of information technology related projects that may originate in the Technology Services division or any other business unit in the corporation. The Project Manager will ensure all projects and project activities remain aligned with the City of Cambridge corporate strategy, and values. The Project Manager will provide services in keeping with the project management protocols and processes in place both in Technology Services and within the corporate Project Management Office (PMO).
• Performance management and coordination of project services by staff, consultants and contractors and any associated project teams
• Prepare, manage and update project documentation as per PM standards which may include but not limited to project charter, detailed scope, budget, resource plan, project implementation plan, status reports, change requests, issue log, risk management plan, communication plan, lessons learned and close-out documentation
• Review and manage detailed project scope
• Work in collaboration with services providers and staff to review project deliverables and coordinate approvals from various city stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Works with city staff, consultants and suppliers to identify and lead a suitable project team
• Coordinate the availability of internal and external resources to meet project objectives
• Manage all aspects of project budget, review all invoices and provide a recommendation to city staff for approval of payments
• Manage and update detailed project schedule, tasks and milestones and escalate any schedule issues with appropriate stakeholders for appropriate resolution
• Prepare detailed project communication plan and identify milestones for communication to project steering committee, senior management, council and the public
• Prepare project change management plan to identify changes to project scope, schedule and budget as necessary and coordinate approval of such changes from respective authorities to meet project goals
• Prepare Project Risk register and perform risk review as required during the project life cycle
• Evaluate and assess result of project
• Document lessons learned and project closure
