Technology Project Manager (Project Portfolio Coordinator)

The City of Santa Monica's Information Services Department (ISD) seeks a Technology Project Manager (Project Portfolio Coordinator) with experience in developing and managing technology infrastructure projects. The Technology Project Manager (PPC) will be responsible for all project management efforts including project plan development, requirements gathering, scope definition, and cross-functional project team leadership. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional in the formal practice of project management for Information Technology and must demonstrate strong leadership ability, aptitude towards collaboration, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Public Administration, or a closely related field.

Two years of recent, paid, progressively responsible work experience leading and coordinating multiple small to large scale Information Systems/IT projects, which has included research and analysis and request for proposal (RFP) development.
 
Possession of a valid class C driver license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
 
Project Management Institute (PMI) - Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.

Salary Details

Salary: $100,548 - $124,140 Annually

Retirement: California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) retirement formula is 2% @ 62 and members contribute 6.25%. The City does not participate in Social Security but does participate in Medicare, which requires a 1.45% contribution by both the employee and City.

Health Insurance: City pays 93% of medical insurance premium for employee and eligible dependents. Employee contributes 7% toward premium.  City pays 100% of premiums for dental and vision plans and Employee Assistance Program for employee and eligible dependents.

Retiree Medical: The City currently contributes into a retiree medical trust, which would be available to you upon meeting all eligibility requirements.

Long-Term Disability Insurance: The City pays the premium for LTD coverage.

Holiday Leave: 10 paid holidays per year, plus two floating holidays, one of which may be cashed out at the end of the fiscal year, depending on appointment date.

Vacation Leave: 12 vacation days per year, which accrue at one (1) day per month.

Sick Leave: One (1) sick leave day is accrued each month; a portion of unused sick leave can be cashed out at the end of the fiscal year for qualifying employees.

Professional/Administrative Leave:  Employees with benefits in alignment with the Administrative Team Associates (ATA) may receive up to six (6) non-cashable and five (5) cashable leave days per fiscal year, depending on appointment date.

Term Life Insurance: City-paid term life insurance coverage of twice the employee’s base annual salary rounded up to the next one thousand dollars.
