The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women's health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Technology Project Manager. The Technology Project Manager will manage multiple simultaneous projects and deliver solutions that have a significant technology component on time and meeting financial objectives through a disciplined approach to project management. This includes both interdepartmental and cross-functional teams in all project phases from requirements definition and solution design to testing, deployment and end user training. As a result of COVID-19, ACOG employees are working in a temporary remote capacity. This is temporary, and normal business hours and in-office duties will return to normal once deem it is safe to return into the office. Employees are expected to return to ACOG's National office located at 409 12th, Southwest Washington DC, 20024.


Key Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects ensuring that projects are aligned and directly support the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Develop and manage all aspects of projects from planning, external vendor relationships, business analysis, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
  • Drive projects to successful completion while working within the constraints and timeline of the business
  • Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; create various scope options dependent on priorities and cost/benefit expectations
  • Actively track each aspect of project performance against schedules, ensuring that milestones are being met and obstacles and issues are identified and brought to the designated team member to ensure that project goals are achieved
  • Identify and escalate issues and risks early to minimize impact to the overall project schedule
  • Communicate with business SMEs to ensure expectations are kept in line with project objectives and status
  • Participate in requirements gathering, writing user stories and testing
  • Assist in the development, management and continuous improvement of project management processes & templates
  • Analyze complex problems and create innovative solutions by applying analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Develop and maintain solid understanding of core technologies in use at ACOG and research new technologies that could be leveraged to address organizational needs
  • Participate in the definition of acceptance criteria and quality metrics to help drive adoption
  • Proactively identify technology business needs as they relate to new implementations as well as enhancements to current services
  • Ensure the end to end solution is proven to deliver the required business results
  • Drive adoption of the solution use with stakeholders, leading knowledge transfer
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in business or Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • 5+ years' experience managing technology projects with at least 1 years of experience directly related to business analysis and/or business consultingPMP and PMI-ACP, CSM or equivalent certification strongly desired
  • Excellent meeting facilitation and presentation skills required
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together to fit a project and business environment
  • Experience in using appropriate tools:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
    • Project management tools such as Jira, Wrike, Teamwork Projects or equivalent
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Commitment to accomplishing goals within the defined timelines and meet project schedule deadlines
  • Ability to assess and identify technologies for potential solutions
  • Ability to take direction and work independently, or as part of a team, on assigned tasks with keen attention to detail
  • Experience in requirements definition and user stories
  • Demonstrated history of superior communication skills, verbal and written, with diverse personalities and technical competency
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, able to meet deadlines, maintain objectivity, and make timely decisions
  • Experience, and commitment to, providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
