The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is looking for a Manager, Project Management to join the Transmission Project Management Office. The type of projects your team will lead includes various types of Transmission Lines and Substations Projects. Our approach to the work environment focuses on the balance between teamwork and flexibility which means we are currently in a hybrid schedule: two days in the office at a minimum with the option to work three days remotely.

You will be trusted to:

  • Provides leadership and direction to staff to provide operationally and control support for project management.
  • Hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates, and orchestrate the performance, resolves compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with human resources, and handles all aspects of staff supervision.
  • Maintains awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns. Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
  • Develops strategic and operating plans, goals, objectives, priorities, and procedures that are in alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of LCRA.
  • Responsible for establishing and supervising a portfolio of projects and providing services to portfolio projects such as guidelines, policies, planning, scheduling, estimating the cost, and risk assessment.
  • Develops new policies and procedures as needed to ensure the successful implementation of project programs. Establishes direction, identifies problems, and resolves them by developing solutions to remedy those items. Facilitates establishment and communication of program goals and strategies across LCRA.
  • Ensures Project Managers develop and implement project plans and project controls to ensure that projects are monitored for schedule and budget compliance. Develops action plans to address recommendations from program audits and ensures these action plans are fully implemented.
  • May prepare Board agenda items and makes presentations to the LCRA Board of Directors.
  • Facilitates solutions and resolves issues across LCRA related to the Transmission Project Management Office.
  • May use experience gained in legal and regulatory matters by providing direct support for testimony preparation. As necessary, provides information in response to PUCT Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • May assume the role of a project or program manager in addition to supervisory responsibilities.
  • Travels independently or with a small team to project sites as needed.

Requirements

You qualify with:

  • Twelve or more years of experience in project controls, project management or work package management, including four or more years managing projects (including managing scope, schedule and budget). A degree(s) in project management, business, finance, economics, engineering, construction management, math, science, computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.  
  • Driver's license
