Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM CIO is searching for talented Project Managers to join our CIO Unified Communications team. Youre ready to bring your passion, knowledge and design thinking from the classroom to the enterprise. We focus on providing IBMers with a world class meetings and collaboration experience, driven by innovation, ease of use and agile methods. We drive excellence in employee solutions by successfully merging business and user goals, creating solutions that deliver productivity and drive business success. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, team members, squad and tribe leaders, network engineers, designers and other talented professionals in a multidisciplinary team to deliver a best of class Unified Communications solution for the Global IBM user audience.

The Unified Communications team seeks professionals from diverse background and is not limited to technical candidates. As a Project Manager in CIO Unified Communications, you will be responsible for running highly productive and multidisciplinary teams on multiple complex projects. The role is focused around supporting the CIO Unified Communications team, rather than a traditional project team or family of products. Many of the projects revolve around owning the end-to-end project workstreams, as well as running shorter-term projects centered around event management, end-user support escalations, device deployment, product development, end-user experience, executive and emergency requests, and strategic planning and execution, to name a few.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead resource for event management by developing, and presenting project for new product kick-offs, team summits, and showcases
  • Manage individual support escalations, including being a resource for team members
  • Create support documentation, update Wiki and publisher pages for Help@IBM
  • Act in building project plans by working with stakeholders for product or device escalations
  • Ensure consistency by identifying opportunities on process & tooling efficiencies
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including retrospectives and scrums
  • Enhance and optimize the quality of projects by developing organized processes and documents, implementing regular cadence and keeping teams, stories and iterations aligned
  • Regularly track metrics and reporting on projects to leadership team and identify areas for improvement
  • Create, monitor and track budget data as necessary
  • Be primary resource for helping drive user related issues to close
  • Have great communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate successfully across IBM and our external providers, working seamlessly with engineers, designers and support teams
  • Be able to independently manage multiple aspects of project development to IBM employees with a strong focus on the user experience
  • Be an agile IBM squad member committed to delivering, managing and operating a world class meetings experience for IBM employees anywhere, anytime with any device.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • 3+ Years experience as a Project Manager
  • 3+ Years experience in Event Management
  • A strong interest and/or experience in Unified Communications tools and Technologies
  • Ability to self-motivate and develop strategic plans to align with IBM CIO mission
  • Experienced in agile practices and ceremonies


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Expert knowledge in project or program management
  • Familiarity with Unified Communication tools, such as Cisco Webex, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Box
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Comprehensive overall passion for technology
